Hi, I’m Krissi and I make uplifting, melodic electronic music.
Hi, I’m Krissi and I make uplifting, melodic electronic music.
I’m an independent, self-taught electronic music artist.
A couple of years ago I started teaching myself at home
the very basics of electronic music production, through online courses,
YouTube, online music communities, books, etc.
Music has always been a source of inspiration and motivation for me.
But I wanted to create my own musical world
where I could freely express myself and spread my positivity and energy!
I have fallen in love with the process of creating the music
that I want to listen to. This is a difficult and never ending learning path
but it is the most fulfilling and inspiring journey for me so far.
My music often blends melodic, sometimes retro, synths, orchestral textures
and percussive elements and rhythms, played on top of warm basses and techno-style kicks.
On my YouTube channel, I also share jazz piano improvisations on classic jazz standards,
and I love weaving jazzy freestyle into my electronic productions.
My goal is always to create warmth and happiness! :)
DAW: Logic Pro
Studio Monitors: Yamaha HS5
Headphones: beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm; Sennheiser HD 280 PRO; open-back Sennheiser HD 560S 120 Ohm. I use my headphones to produce, and not the speakers, because my room is not acoustically treated.
Audio Interface: Steinberg UR 22 mk2
Mic: sE X1-series
MIDI Controllers: Komplete Kontrol M32, Maschine Mikro. I use my digital piano to record jazz improvisations.
FX Plugins: I mainly use the Logic Pro stock plugins. Through my purchases of Native Instruments hardware, I have also accumulated some plugins from NI and iZotope, since both merged together. In general I don’t want to be overwhelmed with hundreds of plugins that I only half-know how to use. Instead I’m focusing on getting to know really well what I already have - and that’s plenty! You can achieve great results with just stock plugins!
Free Plugins, this is a selection of the ones I use the most: Voxengo SPAN Spectrum Analyser, Venn Audio Free Clip, LoudMax by Thomas Mundt, iZotope Ozone Imager.
Sound Library: I use a lot of Logic Pro stock sounds. For example, my track 7Steps is produced entirely with Logic Pro sounds. I use the Berlin Free Orchestra, the free BBC Symphony Orchestra from Spitfire Audio, and I have some free sounds from LABS. Recently I purchased several Production Music Live courses which are a complete game changer - their courses are amazing! They also come with a collection of samples and in particular my kicks are now almost exclusively from the PML library that I’ve curated. I tend to program my own drums. My goal is to do the same with the synths but I guess that’s a longer journey - to obtain sounds that I love. For now I’m tweaking existing synth patches. My favourite synth at the moment is Massive X.
Use of AI: For my music, I do not use any AI music generators. I compose from scratch. I do sometimes use AI to generate the images for my YouTube videos or to create short 5-8sec long videos which I then edit with Final Cut Pro to create the full song length videos.
